RANCHO MIRAGE - The City of Rancho Mirage held the first of three community disaster-training sessions Wednesday night.

The city’s Community Emergency Response Team training is designed to teach people to help themselves, families and neighbors in a disaster.

The training involves classroom and hands on participation.

Sandwiched between the powerful San Andreas and San Jacinto faults, the Coachella Valley could be the epicenter of the most devastating earthquake in the country, one that is already 300 years overdue.
