COACHELLA - Police are still looking for murder suspects in the rare weekend murder spike that left three men dead from two seperate incidents in Coachella.

The three murders nearly double the homicide rate in the valley this year. Seven people have been murdered in the Coachella Valley this year.

The first two men were shot to death at their home Sunday morning on the 52000 block of Calle Camacho.

"When police entered the residence they found two subjects that had been shot. They were deceased," saId Lt. Matt Martello with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The third man was badly beaten on the street and later died at the hospital Sunday night. Police say the incidents are not related.

Police haven't released the names of any of the men killed. They don't have suspects or motives at this time.

People who live by the second crime scene describe a fight that broke out.

"This guy was fighting some other guy and a second guy came and hit him with a two by four," said Brittany Garcia.

Another neighbor says her family gave the beaten man water, but he wasn't able to drink it.

"He was all beat up you could see the bruises down his back because his shirt was up," said Ana Maria Monroy in Spanish.

Neighbors say the man did not live on the 85000 block of Hill Drive in Coachella where he was beaten up.

Anyone with information is urged to call crime stoppers at 341- STOP.
