Man Under Arrest for Bringing Loaded Gun to Airport
PALM SPRINGS - A 71 year old man is arrested Tuesday for bringing a loaded gun into the Palm Springs International Airport.
Palm Springs Police say they were alerted by Transportation Security Administration personnel just before noon that Andrew Sandowski of Salem, Oregon had a handgun in his briefcase.
Police quickly arrived at the airport and searched Sandowski's briefcase. Inside the briefcase they found a loaded .380 Beretta.
Sandowski cooperated with police, but was still arrested. He was charged with, "Weapon Possession In Sterile Area Of Airport".
The 71 year old man was transported to the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
