Coachella Attendees Suffer Through Extreme Heat
COACHELLA- Triple digit heat has tens of thousands of desert visitors baking in the sun at Coachella Fest.
"I don't feel that great. It's really hot," said Michael Toledo, a ticketholder from Santa Clarita.
Last weekend's Coachella fest saw mild temperatures, about 40 degrees less than the heat on the fields this weekend.
"It's kind of part of the Coachella experience. But it definitely would have been more comfortable last weekend," said Christina Derobrtis, a ticketholder from Valencia.
Police and fire officials are worried about dehydration with the blazing sun and lack of water. Add alcohol to the mixture, and it could be a recipe for disaster.
"If you are thirsty, you are already 10-15 percent dehydrated," said Fred Pena, a Fire Prevention Officer.
