Bus Fire Shuts Down NB Lanes of Cook Street

PALM DESERT - A shuttle bus fire at the intersection of Cook Street and Hovley Lane East shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday shuts down NB lanes of Cook St. between 42nd Avenue and Hovley.
The bus is a shuttle bus believed to be in use by Stagecoach concert goers. Officials say no passengers were on the bus when it caught on fire. A Riverside County Sheriff's spokesman tells KMIR6 no one was injured in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Witnesses say the fire created a lot of smoke in the area for several minutes.
