The Living Desert Opens New Meerkat Exhibit
PALM DESERT - Some star attractions at the Living Desert are spending their first night in their new home.
A dedication ceremony was held Friday to mark the opening of the new Meerkat Exhibit.
Their new home features extensive tunnels, burrows and foraging areas for them to enjoy. The 360 square foot exhibit is built at eye level for children to interact and took about three months to build.
The dedication and opening of the new Meerkat Exhibit, which will house the Living Desert's gang of meerkats in the latest of creature comforts; including foraging areas and burrows, which features an extensive tunnel-and-room system for these popular and gregarious mammals.
