Tension is running high in Palm Springs after a fifth pipe bomb was found Thursday afternoon, and then detonated.
Officers disarmed one at the police station Wednesday, then four were found Thursday around Indian Canyon Road and San Rafael.
We are getting our first look at what these devices, or pipe bombs, look like.
We spoke to a homeowner who found one in his driveway when he returned home.
Dugan Williams found a metal pipe bomb when he came home.
"I noticed something something in my yard, and I looked out there and there was a bomb sitting in my yard," said Williams.
He was at work when the first three pipe bombs were found, then went home to get his dog, Rocco.
"Worried about my pup, wanted to get my dog out of here, don't want him to sit there and find something in the yard," said Williams.
Police had already left after disarming three pipe bombs and searching the area. Williams called with his discovery.
"They were immediately back here, blocking off the street, I mean within seconds," said Williams.
Police are looking into if the device was placed after they left the area, or if it was outside the area they had closed off.
"This will be the first device that was located in a driveway, the other devices were either found in a dirt field or on a side walk," said Sgt. Mike Kovaleff with Palm Springs Police.
Palm Springs Police are investigating who made these pipe bombs.
"Anytime you place a destructive device its dangerous, its a felony, and the active investigation," said Sgt. Kovaleff.
Williams had to wait in his home for two hours until the pipe bomb was disarmed.  He is just glad everyone is safe, and his dog, Rocco.
"Anything that's here if it blowed up or whatever, too bad, its only material stuff, but you can't replace him, you can't replace me, so I'd much rather be safe and happy," said Williams.
A safe end, to an explosive day.
Police remind people that if you see a suspicious device, don't pick it up, call them. And call them on a landline, because a cellular transmission could cause it to explode.
