PALM DESERT-- It's a story that everyone seems to be talking about: The new controversial cover of Time Magazine. The mother who appeared on the cover, breast-feeding her son, is speaking out about the controversy, and the doctor behind the picture will be here in Palm Desert on Saturday.

"Attachment Parenting" is at the center of the controversy. It is a parenting method that encourages mothers to breast-feed, sometimes when the kids are toddlers, and also encourages co-sleeping.

26-year-old Jamie Grumet sparked a media frenzy when she was photographed for the article, while breast-feeding her son who is nearly four years old.

Grumet appeared on the today show this morning with her son Aram and spoke with NBC's Savannah Guthrie, along with Dr. Bill Sears, the Author of "The Baby Book" which supports attachment parenting.

Local mothers are sounding off about the topic, and will have the chance to hear Dr. Sears speak.  The event is free, but are asking for donations for an organization called "About Families, INC."  It's the group responsible for getting the Doctor to come and speak.

So from 9:30am-12:30pm on Saturday, Dr. Sears will be speaking at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.
