RIVERSIDE COUNTY - Portions of Interstate 10 will close for pavement work beginning Wednesday night through Saturday May 19. Delays are expected. Caltrans will be closing alternating lanes of I10 in both directions from Pennsylvania Avenue in Beaumont to Highway 111 in Palm Springs.

The road repairs had been scheduled to take place last week but were pushed back because the contractor was unavailable until now.

On Wednesday, May 16, starting at 7 p.m alternating lanes on eastbound I10 between Pennsylvania Avenue and Hargrave Street will be closed. The work will end by 4 a.m. Thursday. Alternating lanes on westbound I10 between Highway 111 in Palm Springs and Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday. The alternating closures continue through Saturday.

Caltrans officials say drivers should expect delays and ask motorists to slow down in the construction zone.
