Salmonella Outbreak in Spinach
SALINAS - A voluntary recall of organic baby spinach is underway due to Salmonella contamination concerns.
Taylor Farms says a random test on one of its packages tested positive for Salmonella.
Salmonella can cause serious problems in children and seniors. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting and diarrheah.
The recalled products include Packaged Organic Baby Spinach with the Private Selections or Marketside Labels.
If you have a package of the recalled spinach do not eat it instead return it for a refund.
Customers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume the products and should dispose of them. Consumers may contact Taylor Farms Retail, Inc. for further information at 866-508-7048 Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm PST.
Consumers with concerns about an illness from consumption of this product should contact a health care provider.
