Family and friends of the 16-year-old girl found dead on a Palm Springs road are raising money for her funeral.
Zia Hoyos was found lying across Gene Autry Trail early Monday morning.
She is remembered by her family and friends as an energetic, fun girl with a beautiful smile.
Zia's 11-year-old brother is helping at the carwash to make his sister's funeral service beautiful.
"I had lots of good times with her, and I just wanted them to continue, but its too late, she passed away and she's gone forever," said Adrien Fuentes, Zia's brother.
Palm Springs Police are investigating Zia's death, they believe she was lying on the road when she was hit by a vehicle.
But how she got there, and what happened are still unanswered questions.
"It's been real tough, not knowing is, you don't get any answers, there's no closure, we're still mourning over this and its just been really hard for us to get any kind of closure not knowing a name, not knowing anything," said Zia's uncle, Adam Fuentes.
Zia's family told us she snuck out of the house to go to a party.
"You know she trusted the wrong person, whoever she was with," said Zia's sister, Vonee Hoyos.
Zia's sister doesn't think she was walking on the road.
"I know my sister, we've been out late at night, and we've never walked through an area like that, never," said Vonee.
Zia's friends came to support the family at the carwash.
"She was unique, and original, and she had a big heart, and we know all of that are here at the carwash that if something happened to us, she would be out here giving her all," said Zia's friend, Allyssa Hernandez.
"Zia, I want to say I love you, and this made me realize that all of the people that are here together are the friends that will support you forever, and we're going to help your mom, I love you Sensa," said Zia's friend, Ashley Martinez.
Zia's sister had a message for her too.
"I just want to tell my sister that I love her and I'm sorry that I wasn't there to help her that night, and that I wasn't with her, to protect her," said Vonee.
And Zia's younger brother wants answers.
"The person who did this has to turn themself in or do something, or the cops have to do something to catch him, because I will never forgive whoever did this to her," said Adrien.
Zia's family and friends are holding another car wash Sunday to raise money for her funeral.
They will be at the Del Taco parking lot by Walmart on Ramon Road in Palm Springs from 8am to 6pm.
