HEMET-- Students from Hemet High School are speaking out, after a tragic crash on school grounds. Eight students were hurt, when a pickup truck slammed into a crowded crosswalk Wednesday afternoon. The 18-year-old driver, David Carrillo, is not facing any criminal charges at this point. Drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as possible factors in the crash. California Highway Patrol is investigating exactly what caused Carrillo to crash.

The students we spoke with say this accident has put a damper on all the end of the year excitement. Students say there's a lot of sadness and disbelief. Some shared where they were when the crash happened.

"I was sitting right here, and I heard the crash and everyone screaming. And then we went over there. The cops showed up and everyone was freaking out and crying," says Student David Patke.

"I didn't want to rush over and crowd them, but I heard the screams, and my friend was relaying it back to me," says Student Tannon McCall.

Grief councelors are on hand today and tomorrow, for students having trouble coping with the tragic crash
