Family Escapes House Fire

PALM DESERT - A home fire Saturday afternoon leaves a family of four and a family pet without a home.

Around 5:15 p.m. Cal Fire was called to a structure fire on Carmel Circle in Palm Desert.

The homeowners were able to escape, even the family cat made it out safely.

The Red Cross has stepped in to help the family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
