IID Director Resigns After Abuse Video Goes Viral

EL CENTRO--Anthony Sanchez, a board member on the Imperial Irrigation District has resigned after disturbing video went viral showing him allegedly beating his step-son.
A neighbor captured video of what looks to be Anthony Sanchez beating his step-son with a belt during a game of catch.
The 34-year-old has since resigned from his position at the Imperial Irrigation District. A spokeswoman from the IID said they have no comment about his actions, but will offically acknowledge Sanchez's resignation at an upcoming meeting.
As for Sanchez, his lawyer couldn't be reached for comment, but did tell local sources that no charges had been officially filed against his client. Sanchez turned himself into police Friday and posted a $100,000 dollar bond.
