ANAHEIM - The newest attraction inside Disney's California Adventure Park, Cars Land, opens to the public Friday June 15.
The all-new 12-acre land was inspired by the blockbuster, Disney-Pixar animated movie, Cars.
A VIP preview event kicked off with a star-studded red carpet. It was followed by a spectacular opening ceremony that featured Lightning McQueen and Mater. The ceremony concluded with the lighting of neon lights on Route 66 and fireworks that lit up the Ornament Valley mountain range and Radiator Springs, the fictional town in the movie, Cars. Cars Land is home to three new attractions, including the E-ticket Radiator Springs Racers, which takes guests on a twisting and turning high-speed race through Ornament Valley and Radiator Springs. The opening Cars Land culminates a 5-year expansion at the Disneyland Resort. Since 2007, more than 20 new attractions, shows and entertainment offerings have been added to the Happiest Place on Earth.
