PALM DESERT - Riverside County authorities are searching for a suspect in several optometry business robberies. The suspect is becoming known to the public as the "Sunglass Bandit."
According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, the robber has hit at least seven businesses located within the cities of Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage and Indian Wells. Most of these burglaries occurred during evening or night hours.
Police say the bandit gets away with name-brand sunglasses.
The suspect in these burglaries is described as a male, approximately 5'-00" to 5'-04" tall with a stocky build. Anyone with information can call The Riverside County Sheriff's Department Palm Desert Station at 760 836-1664 or Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-Stop (7867).
