COACHELLA - A group of state legislators spent their Friday touring several groups and organizations based in eastern Coachella Valley that are shining examples of how to nurture and focus the talents and skills of boys and men of all races, but specifically those of color. The legislators are looking for ideas to implement across the state to help improve the lives of minority youth and men.
Local Assemblyman Manuel Perez, lead the tour in his home area. A locally-based legislative hearing was held as well Friday evening. More hearings are scheduled in Sacramento in early August.
