Man Out Walking Dog is Stabbed By Suspected Robbers

CATHEDRAL CITY - A man out walking his dog late Saturday night says two men who intended to rob him stabbed him.

The 56-year-old victim says he was walking with his dog about 11:30 p.m. near the area of Shifting Sands Trail and 33rd Avenue in Cathedral City when two Hispanic males approached him.

The suspects demanded the man hand over his wallet. Police say the man told him he did not have a wallet with him and as the two suspects began to walk past the victim, the suspects stabbed him in the leg. The victim's wounds were non-life threatening and he was able drive himself to Eisenhower Medical Center for treatment and call Police.

The victim describes the first suspect as a young Hispanic adult male, wearing a white shirt and black pants. He was about 5’07” in height and had a thin build. He was approximately 18 years in age.

The second suspect is also a young Hispanic male, wearing a dark blue shirt, and blue jeans. He was about 5’02” in height and had a thin build. He was approximately 18 years in age. The victim says both suspects spoke to him in Spanish only.
