Torres says he took a lot of heat for proposing the ticket tax hike, but that's not why he changed his mind yesterday. He says it was the personal letters from Indio residents, that made him rescind the tax proposal.

"Not to mention all the folks who make their money in the hospitatily industry.. i wasnt going to let them be held hostage.. someone had to give, and obviously its going to be me and not mr toilette. He definitely holds the cards," says Torres.

Goldenvoice is keeping quiet so far on the issue.
