Open Casting Call for Liberace Film
PALM SPRINGS - An open casting call will be held in Palm Springs this week for a movie about Valentino Liberace, one of the city's most iconic residents.
Try outs for the HBO film "Behind the Candelabra" are set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday and 12-3 p.m. Monday at the Palm Springs Convention Center, 277 N. Avenida Caballeros. The Steven Soderbergh film, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, is being produced by local resident Jerry Weintraub.
The extras casting call is for men and women 18 years or older of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities. Those attending should bring a pen and a small 3-by-5 photo.
