Thermal Man Arrested on Suspicion of Running a Chop Shop
THERMAL - A 23-year-old Thermal man is accused of operating a chop shop in Thermal. Garages where stolen vehicles are stripped to be sold piece by piece are known as chop shops.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, Julio Adrian Diaz was arrested about 7 a.m. Wednesday in the 88000 block of Airport Boulevard as officers searched the property in connection with an on-going stolen vehicle investigation.
Diaz was arrested on suspicion of running a chop shop, possession of a stolen vehicle and being a felon with a gun. Bail is set at $5,000.
