Fire Damages Palm Desert Irish Pub
PALM DESERT - A firefighter is injured while battling a small blaze at a restaurant Wednesday afternoon in Palm Desert.
About 34 firefighters quickly responded to a report of smoke and flames at McGowan's Irish Pub, located at 73340 Highway 111. The fire was quickly put out and contained to that one business, fire officials at the scene told KMIR6.
One firefighter was injured and was receiving treatment for minor heat related injuries, according to the fire battalion chief at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The pub was closed for the season. No estimate yet on the amount of damage to the restaurant.
Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.
