Early Morning Viewing Party for Local Competing in the Olympics
DESERT HOT SPRINGS - Desert Hot Springs is hosting an Olympics-watch party on Sunday in honor of Coachella Valley native Sarah Robles.
The San Jacinto High School graduate is competing in women's weightlifting.
23 year old Sarah Robles, who grew up in Desert Hot Springs, is ranked as the top American.
Starting Sunday, she will compete in the class that starts at 75 kilograms, or 165 pounds.
"The city of Desert Hot Springs congratulates Ms. Robles on this major accomplishment and wishes her the best of luck in London. We'll be rooting for you, Sarah,'' Mayor Yvonne Parks said in a statement.

The Olympics-watch party is Sunday, August 5th. The Weightlifting Competition will be aired on the large screens at the Carl May Community Center located 11711 West Dr. in Desert Hot Springs at
7:30 a.m. Doors will open at 7:00 a.m.
