Brush Fire burns 15 Acres in Riverside County
WILDOMAR, Calif. (AP) -- A 15-acre fire that has hopscotched through brushy areas in the small Southern California community of Wildomar is 80 percent contained.
The Riverside County Fire Department says the blaze erupted shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday as temperatures soared to 103 degrees in the semi-rural region south of Lake Elsinore.
More than two-dozen engines and 163 firefighters were dispatched, along with a helicopter and two air tankers.
A firefighter sustained first-degree burns to two of his fingers and a civilian was transported to a nearby hospital for a non-fire related minor injury.
Mandatory evacuations were not ordered.
Winds are estimated at 12 mph.
