Cell Phone Radiation
CNN - More radiation... no problem? The Government Accountability Office is asking the Federal Communications Commission to update its cell phone radiation standards.
They want to raise the limits by 20-percent-- which is the international standard-- saying smartphone usage is dictating the request.
The reasoning is that people use cell phones in other capacities more than ever-- rather than just talking with their phones next to their ear.
The G-A-O raised the issue at the request of three Democratic senators who feel lower radiation standards equal more costs for consumers.
According to the G-A-O, the highly enforced lower radiation limits limit cell phone function.
