Flood Advisory for the Coachella Valley
The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a flood advisory for the Coachella Valley, Riverside County Mountains and San bernardino County mountains.
The flood advisory will be in effect until 6:00 p.m. Monday.
The National Weather Service radar indicated thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall along the I-10 corridor over the Banning area. These storms are moving to the
north around 5 mph. Minor road flooding is possible impacting areas of Banning, Beaumont, Cabazon, Calimesa and Cherry Valley.
"Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams and ponding of water on country roads and farmland along the banks of creeks and streams," according to the National Weather Service.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. You're advised to move to higher ground.
