Pertussis Vaccine Clinics Slated for Next Week
PALM SPRINGS - If your children attend Palm Springs Unified School District and are entering 7th thru 12th grade - you can get them a free whooping cough vaccination.
Students who have not yet been immunized with the Tdap vaccine can receive a free immunization on Thursday, Aug. 23 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at James Workman Middle School, 69-300 30th Avenue, Cathedral City.
Borrego Community Health Foundation will provide the free vaccine to children who are currently enrolled in the Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) program or Medi-cal, who do not have health insurance coverage or whose private health insurance does not cover vaccines or who receive free or reduced lunch. Parents are asked to bring their child's immunization records with them to the clinic.
State law requires that all students entering seventh through twelfth grades are required to have the whooping cough/pertussis vaccine before the first day of school.
