Blood Drive Donors Get Free Knott's Soak City Pass
LA QUINTA - All who complete a blood donation at Desert Blood Services donor centers in La Quinta or Indio on Saturday, Aug. 25 receive a voucher for a free ticket ($33.99 value) to Knott's Soak City.
Donor center locations and operating hours are:
-79-215 Corporate Centre Drive, La Quinta. Hours: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for whole-blood donations; 6:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for apheresis donations.
-46-100 Rubidoux St., Indio. Hours: 8 a.m. to noon.
Donors also receive a free El Pollo Loco meal coupon.
-Walk-ins are welcome; appointments may be made at either site by calling 877.827.4376. Appointments are required for apheresis donations.
Donors must be at least 15 years of age (15- and 16-year-olds require a signed parental consent form; forms are available at the centers), be in general good health, and weigh at least 110 pounds. Photo ID is required.
Donors should maintain their regular eating schedules and increase their intake of fluids (water is best) in the 24 hours prior to donating.
Desert Blood Services is a collaboration between LifeStream and Community Blood Bank that provides blood products for Desert Regional Medical Center, Eisenhower Medical Center, JFK Memorial Hospital, Hi-Desert Medical Center, Palo Verde Hospital, and Bush Naval Hospital, Twentynine Palms.
