COACHELLA VALLEY - What to expect on your morning commute this week.

Cathedral City Public Works crews are doing road work at the intersection of Dinah Shore and Date Palm August 27-31. The work will primarily take place in the early morning hours between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. with various temporary lane closures.

The westbound side of Interstate 10 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday between the area of Date Palm and Bob Hope. Date Palm Drive over the freeway will be closed to all traffic in order to minimize delays to freeway traffic being routed off the freeway and back on via the off ramps and on ramps.

All motorists should avoid areas surrounding the construction zone or expect delays. If crews are unable to complete the required work Tuesday night, a freeway closure may occur on Wednesday night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to complete any unfinished work.
