CATHEDRAL CITY--   People across the valley were glued to their tv's, as the Democratic National Convention came to a close. Excitement filled the room at the democratic headquarters of the Desert in Cathedral City, when President Barack Obama took the podium.

While many local republicans said they didn't even watch the DNC, Obama supporters say they were definitely impressed.

"Oh I think it's a tremendous speech that he's giving, as all the speeches tonight have been tremendous," says Democrat Pat Osbon.

"The convention has been so efficient, so motivating, so powerful," says Democrat Laura Pierce.

This statement was sen from Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack. It reads,

"President Obama's speech was entirely predictable. He offered more government solutions for problems mostly caused by government."
