PALM DESERT - The National Weather Service has issued a Blowing Dust Advisory through 11 p.m. for the entire Coachella Valley. There's also a Flash Flood Watch in effect through Monday.

Short-term forecast calls for strong southeast winds with local gusts of 45 to 50 MPH and areas of blowing dust reducing visibility to 1 to 2 miles and perhaps lower in some areas. Conditions should improve after 11 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Isolated thunderstorms will move rapidly to the Northwest with brief heavy rain and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning strikes possible.

Reports of damage are coming into the KMIR6 Newsroom, with downed trees and powerlines in Palm Springs, Cathedral City and Palm Desert.
