Call for Help: Mecca Flood Victims in Need
MECCA - The Salvation Army has been working nonstop to help residents affected by this week's flooding.
The Salvation Army mobilized its emergency disaster vehicle to provide lunch to 250 people. It will return to Thermal Wednesday night with dinner for at least 500 people.
Hygiene kits will also be distributed to residents of the Duroville mobile home park - which include soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant and other necessities.
According to Lt. Kelsey, the greatest need is for cases of bottled water. The Salvation Army also asks for monetary donations so that the Army can purchase supplies to fill the immediate need and help residents with long term recovery.
Donations can be dropped off at The Salvation Army Dick and Beverly Davis Corps Community Center, 30-400 Landau Boulevard, Cathedral City, CA 92234. Please call 760-324-2275 to find out more.
