MECCA - Riverside County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon in a remote area of Mecca.

Investigators say the male adult victim was shot in the face by another man about 3:30 P.M. near 66th Avenue and Grant in Mecca. The victim then drove himself to the old fire house located on the 91100 block of 4th Street. The victim's sister told KMIR6 that her brother's cheek was grazed a bullet. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Sheriff's deputies searched the area for several hours looking for the suspect. No details about the suspect were provided.
