DESERT HOT SPRINGS - Sergeant Brad Ramos of the Desert Hot Springs police department has resigned after only one month of service.

Sgt. Ramos was formerly the Indio police chief for 10 years. He was fired from Indio police in September last year after speculation of his role in a fraudulent multi-million dollar grant.

He testified in front of a federal court that he made errors when he entered into a $5 million contract with a grant writer for the indio youth task force. He has been in law enforcement for 32 years.
