Man Dies following Police Encounter
PALM SPRINGS - A man who lead police on a foot chase around a Palm Springs neighborhood has died.
Last week Tuesday Joshua Sznalder, 27, was seen climbing a tree around 7 a.m. in the 500 block of South Sunrise Way. Police arrived and the man took off running. Police chased the man into traffic on Sunrise and then into assisted living facility before running back out into traffic.
Three police officers eventually caught up to the Sznalder and for some reason he suddenly stopped resisting arrest. Police quickly noticed he was no longer breathing and administered CPR, reviving him.
Two of the officers suffered moderate injuries. A third suffered only minor injuries. No word yet on why Sznalder suddenly stopped breathing. Keep it with KMIR6 for the latest on this developing story.
