COACHELLA VALLEY-- During our live 36th District Congressional Debate, local democrats and republicans held viewing parties to see their candidate under the spotlight. There was tons of energy at both viewing parties. As insults were tossed back and forth between the candidates, it wasn't long before both camps say they became frustrated with their partys' opponent.
At Rancho Las Palmas in Rancho Mirage, local republicans say they weren't worried about this debate, saying Bono-Mack is a stronger candidate. But democrats at the Indian Canyons Country Club in Palm Springs completely disagree with that, saying Dr. Raul Ruiz creamed Mary Bono-Mack in the debate. And it wasn't just viewing parties where people voiced their opinions on the candidates. During our live debate, supporters for and against the candidates stood outside our studios here in Palm Desert. We're happy to report that it was a peaceful show of support.
