Local Organization Fills in Gaps for Cancer Patients
Bighorn Behind a Miracle has raised $2.5 million to support cancer charities in the Coachella Valley and one of those organizations has a unique approach to helping cancer patients, giving them a little relief in their everyday lives.
"There's a lot of people diagnosed with cancer that aren't quite financially prepared. If there is a need for basic necessities, that's what we do, we fill in the gaps," said Sean Roberts, Presidents of the Pendleton Foundation.
The Pendleton Foundation helps cancer patients with everything from groceries to utility bills. Over the years the foundation has served 650 people.
"I get the phone calls and the applications passed by my desk and I have the privilege to call these people and let them know we are sending them assistance, and just the joy and the relief that I hear from them, it's just remarkable," said Gina Garside, Treasurer of the Pendleton Foundation.
In total Bighorn Bam has raised $75,000 for the Pendleton Foundation.
