COACHELLA VALLEY-- It used to just be Black Friday, but now there's also Red Thursday. Big department stores are looking to cash in and expand on the biggest shopping day of the year. But some employees' are fighting for their holiday off.
Target, Wal mart, Toys R Us and other big stores are planning to kick off Black Friday on Thanksgiving Day. Companies are calling it Red Thursday because you're basically getting the same exact deals as you would on Black Friday. But the employees who planned to spend Thanksgiving Day with their families say they aren't happy about this. One employee even started a petition that went viral online. But others say, those complaining shoule feel lucky to have a job.
Many local department stores will open their doors at 8pm on Thanksgiving night.
