RANCHO MIRAGE - More than 50 dogs will be transported this weekend from the county’s desert shelter to the Loving All Animals’ Super Pet Adoption Fair in Rancho Mirage.

And all dogs from the county’s Coachella Valley Animal Campus will be offered at a special, event adoption fee of $20. This adoption fee will also include the animal’s spay or neuter surgery, current vaccinations and a microchip.

The city of Rancho Mirage’s Whitewater Park (71-560 San Jacinto Drive) is the host site for Loving All Animals’ Super Pet Adoption Fair. The adoption fair runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.

Riverside County Animal Services will be just one of dozens of shelter and rescue organizations bringing dogs to the huge event. “Every year this event gets bigger and better and we’re very fortunate to be one of the organizations invited,” Director Robert Miller said. “Since this event draws thousands of pet people, we’re hopeful some of our homeless dogs won’t be coming back to the Coachella Valley Animal Campus. That would make all of us very happy.”

The adoption fair includes lots of other activities, including face painting, a cake walk, bottle ring toss, bubble blowing contest, petting zoo, food booths and, of course, lots of homeless pets needing your love.
