COACHELLA- Fans today in Coachella remember Jenni Rivera. The Banda superstar was at the peak of her career in a male dominated genre. Her self titiled album "Jenni" climbed to the top of Billboard's Latin albums chart. Rivera has sold more than 15 million records, according to Billboard, recently winning Billboard's favorite Mexican music female artist.

"Every single song hits in your heart," said Alejandra Figueroa.

Before the fatal plane crash, Rivera was working on a crossover English album and was preparing to make her film debut.

In her career she was beloved as much for her music as her personal character. The 43-year-old mother of five had her first child as a teenager. She spoke up against domestic violence, a victim of it herself.

"The Mexican community is very proud of her because of the woman that she is," said Figueroa.
