School Placed on Lockdown After Threat
CATHEDRAL CITY - Nellie Coffman Middle School was placed on lock down Tuesday afternoon after a threat was phoned to the school office.
According to school officials, a caller with a heavy Spanish accent and borken English said he was "going to harm children."
The school was placed in immediate lockdown. Police searched the school, finding nothing suspicious, and allowed the school day to end peacefully. Police say they continue to keep a heightened state of alertness regarding schools following the Connecticut shootings.
