Valley Residents React to NRA's Support For More Guns In Schools
PALM DESERT - Gun sales are up at Coachella Valley gun shops, according to shop owners KMIR6 spoke with Friday.
The rush to pick up a firearm comes on the heels of a national debate on gun control and Friday's announcement by the National Rifle Association's support of having more armed security placed in or around schools.
Valley residents are sharing a mixed reaction to the NRA's position. Gun owner, Mike Kocour, says he's making sure his teenage daughter knows how to protect herself and his family.
"I think the bad guys have the guns, you know. We don't," Kocour says.
Others KMIR6 spoke with say there are enough guns on the streets already.
