First Local New Year Baby of 2013
The valley's first New Year's baby was born at Desert Regional Medical Center at 12:14 Tuesday morning.
Aliyah Bella De La Cruz is making the new year special for her proud parents.
She was supposed to arrive on Christmas Eve, but took her time to become the first baby of 2013 here in our valley.
Aliyah is now dozing peacefully in her parent's arms, but she made them wait awhile for her arrival.
"She was supposed to come the 24th, Christmas Eve, but wanted to take a little longer I guess," said Aliyah's mother, Natalie De La Cruz.
The proud parents are Indio residents, Natalie De La Cruz and her husband, Andrew De La Cruz.
"Nice gift for New Years to start it off and just we're going to enjoy every moment of it," said Andrew.
This bundle of joy took her time to enter the world, it was a long delivery, and her parents thought she would arrive New Years Eve instead.
"She's a big one, eight pounds, 14 ounces, difficult but a blessing," said Natalie.
Aliyah Bella is 20 and a half inches long, healthy and has a full head of hair.
Her parent's are looking forward to a bright future for their daughter.
"As long as she's successful, and follows her dreams, and makes her parent's happy," said Andrew.
So after more than 24 hours of labor Natalie is getting a well deserved rest, and cradling her first child, Aliyah.
"A blessing for sure, but we'll see when she grows up," said Natalie.
So meet adorable Aliyah, our valley's first baby of 2013.
The De La Cruz's told me they will stay at Desert Regional one more night before bringing home their beautiful new daughter, Aliyah.
