PALM SPRINGS-  Hollywood A-listers continued their celebrations in the desert Sunday at the Variety Brunch at the Parker Palm Springs. Bradley Cooper honored his Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell with the Indie Impact Award at the event.

"This doesn't happen all the time, this relationship, I'm going to mine it until he stops allowing me to," said Cooper.

Variety also named ten up-and-coming directors to watch.

The night before, at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala, stars gushed about their love of the desert.

Sally Field, awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, spoke about her days as a child visiting Palm Springs.

"It was the 50s and it was just one long street, a dusty wonderful street," said Field.

The festival continues with screenings until January 14th. For more information, visit:  http://www.psfilmfest.org/
