Bighorn BAM Looking for Scholarship Recipients
PALM DESERT - The BIGHORN Behind A Miracle (BAM) Scholarship is designed to ease the financial burden experienced by a family member who has either lost a parent/relative to breast cancer, or whose parent/relative has been treated or is currently being treated for breast cancer. Several $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students in the Coachella Valley demonstrating positive growth from an extremely difficult life experience.
"I've seen kids put their college dreams on hold to help take care of mom and the family," shares BIGHORN BAM Founder Selby Dunham. "We want to support those kids who give it all for their family, whether they are at 4-year universities, community colleges or private schools. We hope to grow this program and continue to build dreams while fighting this crazy disease!"
Tell us your story Students selected for this scholarship will be chosen based on a personal essay. The essay must address the impact that having a family member with breast cancer has had on the applicant's life, as well as the challenges that have been presented to the applicant by this experience. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and a treating physician's office must verify the patient's name.
