Behind the Scenes with Palm Springs Film Fest Volunteers
The Palm Springs International Film Festival continues today with many sold-out shows, but behind the success of the festival are the volunteers.
It takes an army of volunteers to get the 24th annual non-profit film festival rolling. In total 800 people are on the ground covering 3,500 shifts, but only a handful can say they've been doing it for more than a decade. Volunteers Diane and Rolland Richenberg have been volunteering for the past fifteen years.
"When we are not volunteering, we are doing different things, but when we're volunteering for the film festival, we are together," said Rolland Richenberg.
The Auen Foundation donated twenty thousand dollars to support the volunteer program--- money that goes to a volunteer coordinator position and recruitment efforts.
