310 Pounds of Marijuana Seized
OTAY MESA - U.S. Customs and Border protection officers arrest a man after they discovered almost 310 pounds of marijuana commingled with a shipment of carrots.
The arrest happened Wednesday at the Otay Mesa Cargo Facility. Officers say a U.S. citizen driving a Bobtail truck entered the cargo port with a shipment of carrots.
The truck was taken to secondary inspection and that's when they found 42 packages of marijuana hidden with the carrots. The weed had an estimated street value of half-a-million dollars. The driver was taken into federal custody.
