Former COD Students Sentenced
INDIO - Two College of the Desert students who took part in a Palm Desert break-in that ended with the fatal shooting of COD football player Frank Tanuvasa by a sheriff's deputy pleaded guilty Friday.
Dyrenell Kardia Robinson and Roman Robert Tausaga were charged in connection with the February 23, 2012 robbery.. Robinson pleaded guilty to a felony robbery charge and will be sentenced to three years in prison. Tausaga pleaded guilty to one count each of robbery and making criminal threats, both felonies, and was immediately sentenced to 10 years in prison.
