PALM SPRINGS- A bitter eviction fight in Palm Springs has come to an end. After a new court ruling yesterday, the "Latino Books y Mas" store in downtown is closing its doors.

The battle started months ago. In September the bookstore owners got a letter from Wessmann Development to vacate the property in order to make way for the Desert Fashion Plaza Project. But the store owners fought back, with protests, at city council meetings and in court, until a judge this week sided with Wessman.

"I always believe that something good comes out of something bad and I know that something good will come out of this," said Luciano Ramirez, owner of the bookstore.

The bookstore has begun liquidation. KMIR6 reached out to Wessman Development for comment, but they declined to speak directly about the bookstore situation.
