Local Reaction to President Obama's Inauguration
COACHELLA VALLEY--Many people enjoyed the day off from work in observance of Martin Luther King Junior Day, a perfect chance for some to watch the inauguration.
We may be thousands of miles away from Washington but the president's inauguration was just as poignant here in the desert.
"It was interesting to hear his inauguration address and it was mercifully short compared with some of the others we've heard," Richard Lindquist said. "He said most of the right things. We'll see what happens."
"I think it's awesome that President Obama gets a second term in office to finish the job he started and to make sure the inheritance he got, he has a chance to clean up and get things better," Brian Kelly said. Four years wasn't enough."
"Hopefully he has a really excellent 4 years," Linda Lindquist said. "He's tried really hard. Maybe he'll get some cooperation and get something done."
People we spoke with say they're hoping in the next four years, President Obama will follow through on the plans he laid out four years ago.
